The Centre for Immunology & Infection (C2i) uses novel technology platforms for biomarker discovery and the development of new vaccine and therapeutic strategies.


It is the fruit of a long-standing partnership of more than 20 years between the LKS Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong (HKUMed) and the Institut Pasteur, Paris, two major international leaders combining their expertise to establish this centre of excellence.


Building on the individual strengths of HKUMed and the Institut Pasteur, the C2i aims to characterise immune responses to infectious agents and their components in a healthy Asian population and develop new vaccine platforms for influenza, new strategies for mosquito-borne viruses and new treatments for lethal respiratory virus infections.


Administrative Assistant I / II (Ref.:C2i021)

Applications are now invited for the appointment as Administrative Assistant I / II (holding the functional title of Centre Manager) (Ref.:C2i021), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year or three-year contract basis with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and mutual agreement.


Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree, with at least 5 years' supervisory experience in the higher education sector, academic or research institute, or a public/quasi-public organization. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese; proven interpersonal, organizational, project management, and decision-making skills; and the ability to plan and implement large-scale projects. Those with less experience may be considered for appointment as Administrative Assistant II.


The appointee will play a vital role in assisting the Centre Directors and Principal Investigators to run the daily operations of the new research centre. He/she will lead a team of executive and technical staff to support a wide range of administrative and managerial functions including project planning and management, human resources, financial budgeting, research administration, space planning and utilization, office management etc.. She/He will liaise with internal and external stakeholders, assist in the development and implementation of strategic plan and policies in collaborative and team-based approaches, and perform other duties as assigned. Work outside office hours and on weekends may be required occasionally.


A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 15% of basic salary for AAI, and 10% of basic salary for AAII.
