The Centre for Immunology & Infection (C2i) uses novel technology platforms for biomarker discovery and the development of new vaccine and therapeutic strategies.


It is the fruit of a long-standing partnership of more than 20 years between the LKS Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong (HKUMed) and the Institut Pasteur, Paris, two major international leaders combining their expertise to establish this centre of excellence.


C2i aims to establish a novel technology platform for biomarker discovery and development of new vaccine and therapeutic strategies. C2i addresses major unmet global and local public health needs with excellent potential for commercial exploitation.



Post-doctoral Fellow (C2i076P3)

Applications are now invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow (Ref.: C2i076P3), to commence as soon as possible, on a one- or two-year contract basis with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and mutual agreement.


Applicants should possess a Master or Doctoral degree, preferably in Biological/Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Parasitology, Microbiology or related disciplines. They should have strong fundamental knowledge on virology, cell and molecular biology, proteomics, genomics, immunology, taxonomy and pharmacology. Hands-on research experiences in some of these areas are essential. Applicants should also have good computer knowledge and IT skills; industrial R&D experience will be a plus. They should have excellent command of English, both written and spoken; Language proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) is a plus.


The appointee will join a multidisciplinary research team to conduct virology, cell and other biotechnological related research and development. He/She is expected to work in and manage smaller teams with strong self-motivation, sense of responsibility and high efficiency; he/she is also expected to be capable of identifying solutions to R&D challenges independently. He/She will supervise junior research staff to work on projects following the milestones and fulfilling the requirements. He/She will need to assist in writing publications, patent applications, and licensing agreements. 5 years or more hands-on laboratory experience is advantageous.
