The Centre for Immunology & Infection (C2i) is a premier research institute focused on advancing biomarker discovery and the development of next-generation vaccines and therapeutic strategies. Founded through a strategic partnership of over 20 years between the LKS Faculty of Medicine at the University of Hong Kong (HKUMed) and the Institut Pasteur in Paris, C2i integrates world-class expertise in biomedical science to drive innovation in public health.


C2i is dedicated to addressing critical global and local health challenges through cutting-edge technology platforms, with a strong emphasis on translational research and commercial impact. A key initiative includes the establishment of a foundational model of the immune system to enable AI-driven biomarker discovery and drug development.


Post-doctoral Fellow / Research Associate (C2i107-P1)

Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow / Research Associate in the Research Program 1 of Centre of Immunology & Infection to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis or two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and mutual agreement. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge projects involving multi-omics big data analysis, with a focus on immunology, genomics, and translational biomedical research.


Requirements:

  • A Ph.D. or M.Phil. (by research) in Biomedical Sciences, Immunology, Genomic Studies, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.

  • Experience in applying biostatistical models to multi-omics datasets (e.g., genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics) is highly desirable.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in R, Python, AI platform integration or other statistical programming languages is an advantage.

  • Experience with high-throughput data analysis (e.g., NGS, Genotyping).

  • Familiarity with data integration techniques across omics layers.

  • Proficiency in data visualization and interpretation.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Self-motivated, responsible, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct integrative analysis of multi-omics datasets to identify biomarkers and therapeutic targets.

  • Develop and apply statistical and computational models to large-scale biological data.

  • Collaborate with experimental scientists to interpret findings and validate results.

  • Prepare manuscripts, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
