The Centre for Immunology & Infection (C2i) uses novel technology platforms for biomarker discovery and the development of new vaccine and therapeutic strategies.


It is the fruit of a long-standing partnership of more than 20 years between the LKS Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong (HKUMed) and the Institut Pasteur, Paris, two major international leaders combining their expertise to establish this centre of excellence.

C2i aims to establish a novel technology platform for biomarker discovery and development of new vaccine and therapeutic strategies. C2i addresses major unmet global and local public health needs with excellent potential for commercial exploitation.


Research Assistant I/II (Ref.: C2i047P1)

Applications are now invited for appointment as Research Assistant I/II (Ref.: C2i047P1) (multiple vacancies), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year contract basis with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and mutual agreement.


Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in biological/medical sciences or a related discipline. They should have a good command of written and spoken English, be self-motivated, organized, detail-minded, hardworking and able to conduct independent and collaborative research in an interdisciplinary team. Prior experience in genomic DNA and RNA extraction, qPCR, flow cytometry PBMC isolation and blood processing will be an advantage, but fresh graduates are also welcome to apply.


The appointees will work in a research group to conduct Healthy Human Global Project - Hong Kong (HHGP-Hong Kong)( https://www.c2i.hk/research-project-1) that will investigate the boundaries of functional immune responses to infectious agents for biomarker discoveries. The appointees may be required to work in the research clinic located at Shek Tong Tsui near the exit B1 of HKU MTR Station on a shift basis. On-site training will be provided for the successful applicants.
