The Centre for Immunology & Infection (C2i) uses novel technology platforms for biomarker discovery and the development of new vaccine and therapeutic strategies.

It is the fruit of a long-standing partnership of more than 20 years between the LKS Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong (HKUMed) and the Institut Pasteur, Paris, two major international leaders combining their expertise to establish this centre of excellence.

C2i aims to establish a novel technology platform for biomarker discovery and development of new vaccine and therapeutic strategies. C2i addresses major unmet global and local public health needs with excellent potential for commercial exploitation.

Assistant Research Officer (Ref.: C2i121-RP4)

Applications are now invited for appointments as Assistant Research Officer (Ref.: C2i121-RP4), to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and mutual agreement.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in biological/medical sciences, virology or related discipline with at least 6 years’ relevant work experience, preferably with solid hands-on experience in cell culture, protein chemistry, molecular biology, imaging, virology or microbial pathogens handling in BSL-2/3 laboratories. Proficiency in sequencing data analysis and bioinformatics is essential. The appointees will conduct independent and collaborative research on various novel respiratory research platforms, infectious viruses under the supervision of Prof. Michael C.W. Chan.
