The Centre for Immunology & Infection (C2i) uses novel technology platforms for biomarker discovery and the development of new vaccine and therapeutic strategies.

 

It is the fruit of a long-standing partnership of more than 20 years between the LKS Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong (HKUMed) and the Institut Pasteur, Paris, two major international leaders combining their expertise to establish this centre of excellence.

 

C2i aims to establish a novel technology platform for biomarker discovery and development of new vaccine and therapeutic strategies.  C2i addresses major unmet global and local public health needs with excellent potential for commercial

 

Post-doctoral Fellow (C2i123-RP3)

Applications are now invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow (Ref.: C2i123-RP3), to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year contract basis with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and mutual agreement.

 

Applicants should possess a Doctoral degree, preferably in Biological/Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Microbiology or related disciplines. Applicants should have strong foundation in key biological sciences, including virology, cell biology, molecular biology, genomics, or pharmacology. Hands-on research experiences in some of these areas are essential. Applicants should also have strong computer skills, especially in the fields of genomic analysis, computational chemistry or computational structural biology. Industrial R&D experience will be a plus. Applicants must demonstrate a good command of written and spoken English. Language proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) is a plus but not mandatory.

 

The appointee will join a multidisciplinary research team to conduct virology, cell and other biotechnological related research and development. The appointee is expected to work in and manage smaller teams, with strong self-motivation, responsibility and efficiency; and is capable to independently identify solutions to R&D challenges. The appointee will supervise junior research staff to work on projects following the milestones and fulfilling the requirements, and will need to assist in writing publications, patent applications, and licensing agreements.  More than 5 years of experience in laboratory is required.
